EE worked with BSG Property Services to deploy Field Link to their entire mobile fleet. The Aeromark-based technology in Field Link offered BSG an innovative approach to ensuring its vehicles and mobile assets are easy to track, manage and communicate with.

Working with its sister companies, Lee Roofing Ltd and Lysander Scaffolding Ltd, BSG offers a full range of building and maintenance services to public and private sector clients, saving them from the time-consuming hassle of having to deal with many different contractors. BSG regularly carries out planned maintenance programmes for Registered Social Landlords. This, along with responsive maintenance and the government’s Decent Homes agenda, forms its core business.
BSG’s previous vehicle tracking solution did not deliver accurate vehicle location positioning and was therefore rarely used by staff. To meet the demand from clients to deliver real-time information on the responsive maintenance work BSG was carry out on their behalf, including the whereabouts of its engineers, BSG had to look at deploying a more sophisticated enterprise mobility solution.

During discussions with EE on the provision of data network services, BSG was introduced to EE’s market leading range of field service management tools including Field Link, a high precision vehicle tracking solution developed with EE partner Aeromark.
Field Link allows BSG to give clients accurate estimated arrival times. This ability to track vehicles when they arrive at a customer site and how long they are there has become a vital tool for BSG, enabling them to prepare accurate invoices for the delivery of time and materials.
Deployment of Field Link has also resulted in a marked improvement in BSG driver behaviour. The tracking of vehicles has reduced speeding and fuel consumption leading to reduced costs and less CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere. BSG is now able to accurately monitor private mileage to help its engineers avoid paying unnecessary personal usage tax and further reduce fuel costs.
