How Field Link helped Quadron Services increase productivity

Quadron is a property and grounds maintenance company that also specialises in retail and conservation work. The company works in four key areas; social housing, environment, property services and capital projects.

The company employs nearly 1000 staff at 17 bases throughout the UK and turns over about £40 million a year.


Quadron needed to overhaul the way it managed its remote-workers, many of the company’s employees spend prolonged periods on the road and out on site, where Quadron is unable to contact them. Quadron required a real-time system to track its vehicles.

EE Business Services provided Quadron with Field Link, a telemetry-based solution installed in-vehicle, to enable Quadron to track 380 of its vehicles. The system collects and reports detailed, accurate data on every movement of the vehicle, including location, speed and routes taken.

Quadron uses Field Link to display the real-time information on screens in its office, enabling it to monitor activity throughout the day.

The solution allows Quadron to track any repairs and receive live feeds from the vehicle. It helps Quadron locate, support and deploy its people more effectively, allowing it to develop a more efficient supply chain, control its costs and measure service levels.

Accurate monitoring means Quadron are able to schedule more jobs in the day, prevent unnecessary mileage and stop inaccurate overtime claims. In addition the company gains detailed reports to prove it is meeting service levels and regulations.
